Ok I give up ... HELP list. I have started ftp and tftp in Yast using Network Services. I have opened port 21 on the firewall and restarted the firewall. All LAN IPs are listed in the FW_TRUSTED_NETS line of SuSEfirewall2. What is left? I can still NOT connect via ftp from any host on the LAN. john

Try pure-ftp, it's on the install media. Scott -- POPFile, the OpenSource EMail Classifier http://popfile.sourceforge.net/ Linux 2.6.5-7.111-default x86_64

Try to connect to your ftp server and write down the exact time you did this. What's left ;) is have a look at the firewall logs, and the ftp server logs, and see what they barf about. You know the time, so you know what log entries to look at. If you do not understand the log entries, then post an example. Please do *not* post them all! ;) Cheers, Leen
