kde upgrade woes. input very sluggish.
i upgraded kde on my SuSE 7.2 box, the other day, and since then response to keyboad and mouse input has been extremely sluggish, especially in konqueror. this is kdebase-2.2.2-9. any suggestions? thanks, bobby cossum -- "If I had known it was harmless, I'd have killed it myself." do 'rpm -qi qt' and check the Build Date.
If it's earlier than Nov 25 you got a brain-damaged version of QT 2.3.2 and
you should re-download the qt.rpm file in base packages and upgrade it.
If the qt rpm is uptodate then the only thing I can recommend is to downgrade
to QT 2.3.1.
You will have to ask someone else where to get those if you haven't kept a
copy lying around (the QT rpm from the older KDE 2.2.1 package works fine).

Hi, I noticed something familiar after installing KDE 2.2.2. Opening a folder in Konqueror took an awfully long time. This problem was resolved after I downgraded Qt from 2.3.2 back to 2.3.1. On the KDE website it is stated that version 2.2.2 should not be used with Qt-2.3.2. I hope this helps, Regards, Tim On Sun, Dec 09, 2001 at 06:20:10AM -0800, bobby cossum wrote:

Thank you, kindly. I've still got qt-2.3.1-54 lying around from before I got lazy and started upgrading directly off the ftp server. Guess I'll have to rethink that part of my stategy, and start keeping backups of old rpm's around for the next time I download a turkey. Thanks, bobby cossum Tim van Venrooij wrote:
