Your error suggests no media (a CD) and or no ide-scsi device (I assume it is a IDE CD-RW). If it is a SCSI device - "Never Mind!" Do you have a disk in the CD-RW? If Yes then: As ROOT - Try from a console (or xterm) "which cdrecord" - which will confirm that cdrecor is there. Then try that information example "/usr/bin/cdrecord -scanbus". If it goes well you will see your CD-RW listed. If not then it is not either a loaded module (ide-scsi.o and sg.o) or built into the kernel. -- 73 de Donn Washburn __ " http://www.hal-pc.org/~dwash " Ham Callsign N5XWB / / __ __ __ __ __ __ __ 307 Savoy St. / /__ / / / \/ / / /_/ / \ \/ / Sugar Land, TX 77478 /_____/ /_/ /_/\__/ /_____/ /_/\_\ LL# 1.281.242.3256 a MSDOS Virus "Free Zone" OS Email: n5xwb@arrl.net Info: http://www.austinlug.org

All cd recording utils are a front end to cdrecord, so you must have it installed. It must be missing for some reason, reinstall it.
