Hello Carlos, At first thank you for your response. CER> Try to see the X server logs, it will say why it doesn't offer the setting CER> you need. Maybe it thinks the video card doesn't have enough memory. It is a virtual computer, and during installation of VMWare-tools I was asked for resolution and I selected 1024*768. I cannot find in the BIOS setting any size of memory for graphics card which could have an effect as in computers with shared graphics card. Could you tell me, where in my protocol is written something about detection of GA.
PS: I need this ancient linux to continue in development under Kylix3.
CER> But you will then have problems deplying your program, no? The best would be, if Borland would continue with Kylix3 support or at least it would release as opensource as they did with Interbase. I will get with it at least more stable environment than I have now. I use for Kylix3 SuSE 9.3, but it hangs during simple writing of code in its editor. Thank you. Greetings, TRoland. <<< 29.10.2007 13:56 - Carlos E. R. I have been trying to configure X11 in SuSE 7.3 to get more than 256 colours in resolution 1024*768, but more colours are offered only with lower resolution. That resolution is enough, but I need definitely more colours. This linux runs on VMWare Workstation 6.0, where VMWare-tools are installed and configured.
