-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Oh that, I set that variable with Yast2, its the maximum number of voices that the card can do. I believe it was 1024. I have little idea what it does, just remember when the Live! card was first released everyone was saying how many voices it could do, guess I just went with the flow... Thanks Matt,
Do you know where that snd_max_synth_voices=1024 came from? That seems to be the one difference between our module.confs. I don't have that variable set at all.
Are you using sound fonts? Also, does your midi work in the KDE2.1? What is the setting in the MIDI - KDE control module?
I'm getting this when I start the MIDI - KDE control module:
Console log for nariana Mar 9 21:27:06 nariana kernel: PCI: Found IRQ 15 for device 00:0b.0 Mar 9 22:57:10 nariana modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module snd-card-5 Mar 9 22:57:11 nariana last message repeated 7 times Mar 9 22:57:11 nariana modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module snd-card-6 Mar 9 22:57:11 nariana last message repeated 7 times Mar 9 22:57:11 nariana modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module snd-card-7 Mar 9 22:57:11 nariana last message repeated 7 times Mar 9 22:57:12 nariana modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module snd-card-5 Mar 9 22:57:12 nariana last message repeated 7 times Mar 9 22:57:12 nariana modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module snd-card-6 Mar 9 22:57:13 nariana last message repeated 7 times Mar 9 22:57:13 nariana modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module snd-card-7
Thus far none of my MIDI stuff works. But I haven't put a lot into *this* card. I'll try that setting you have, and also try following the book. They seem to be using the SB Live! card as their basis.
