Hello:
I am trying to set up my network card and DSL network connection in openSUSE 11.1. It worked but I wanted to change settings so that I could use ssh through vpn channel.
That should not have required any changes.
Therefore I started playing with the setup in yast. I also touched /etc/sysconfig/network directory (I have a backup) and removed files from it (which belonged to the previous setup). [snip] 1. Beforehand it worked and I could edit settings. 2. My network card is an onboard card, according to the motherboard's manual it is a RealTek RTL8100C. Is this equal to the above one, RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+? My motherboard is Gigabyte GA-7VM400MF-P.
I'm not quite sure what your problem is, but it sounds like your network card is no longer working? I don't know which files you deleted from /etc/sysconfig/network, but are you going to do the configuration manually or use yast? /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (9.1°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
