Obviously it seems, that it may be the noveau driver, that puzzles me. At least I cannot get nvidia-settings up running it in a root terminal How do I get nvidia-settings then ?
i've been fiddling around with nvidia drivers a lot recently; unlike you i installed via the ~.run file from the nvidia repos, which is slightly different. in my case the use of nvidia drivers is initiated in /etc/X11/xorg.conf, which openSUSE 11.3 doesn't use anymore. i had to run "nvidia-xconfig" from a root terminal, which created the file for me w/o any hassles. i suspect this might work for you as well.
on second thought, i don't think so. there's a separate package, "nvidia- settings," that provides the settings thing. if you have that installed already, try my first suggestion... -- phani. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
