Hello Listmates,
I just installed ATI's new driver from ati-driver-installer-9-3-x86.x86_64.run and all I can say is "It's about time!"
The resulting rpm generated installed without any heavy problems. My glxgears went from avgeraging 2300-2400 to 4800-5200.
Can somebody confirm that the package is generated although "make" is not installed, which leads to a lack of DRI, i.e. Xorg stating "(EE) fglrx(0): atiddxDriScreenInit failed, GPS not been initialized." while starting. Wouldn't it be a bug that building the package does not complain about the missing make? If only found it when running the fglrx-kernel-build.sh, which did complain.
