I have OpenSuse 10.3 running on a laptop with an ipw2100 card. However, the system doesn't load ipw2100 on boot, even though it's configured for that in YaST (the ipw2100 is specified as a module to load for my wireless interface). "modprobe ipw2100" works fine, but does not seem to be enough - the eth1 interface doesn't get set up automatically for some reason. However, the moment I start the "network card" module in YaST, NetworkManager notices my card, and connects to my wireless AP without problems. This happens before I make any changes to my network configuration at all - just starting up the network card module, and having it detect the current interfaces seems to be enough to get the system going. This problem has been there since the earliest version of 10.3. However, before I was able to solve it by putting "modprobe ipw2100" on top of my /etc/rc.d/network. However, after a recent SuSE update which inclu ded update to the config fiels, this is not enough anymore. What else could I do to get the network module to load and interface to be set up at boot?
