Hi, I have an internal ISA 3Com modem working 99% of the time on SuSE 9. I have just obtained a Duxbury v.92 external serial modem and would like to configure this external modem as a secondary modem that I could select in the KPPP device settings. Can I just plug the modem in and select the ttyS0 port and just hit connect in kppp? I am already using the /dev/modem port for the internal one and I do not want to mess with its settings, until I can remove the internal one. I am assuming that all the authentication data that needs to authenticate me to the ISP will not have to be reconfigured ie tel no., username, password so that the device used to connect up is irrevalant, provided the right port is chosen? If this is incorrect then your call if you provide further help by giving me the file names to edit etc. -- The Little Helper ======================================================================== Hylton Conacher - Licenced Windows user Registered Linux user # 229959 at http://counter.li.org Currently using SuSE 9.0 Professional with KDE 3.1 ========================================================================
