James, Sorry, I missed the first part. Are you having problems with tightvnc-server? It has always been much more flexible and provided broader capabilities than x11vnc. You can check with xdpyinfo over a connection. Some are compile time options, for others, the vnc package just lacks the capabilities. If you run into problems with kde4 apps looking garbled and not rendering correctly, then you might check what is available in x11vnc. ~~~~~~~~ Thanks for your reply David. Using x11vnc is only way I can host a vnc seesion that displays what is on the monitor. Vncserver, as far I can tell, only hosts virtual X sessions and does not render what is on the monitor.
