I had to replace my monitor. When I try to switch to a consoles desktop (vt1-6) eg by pressing CTRL+ALT+F2 the screen is blank and only a monitor message is shown:
"Not optimum mode. Recommended mode: 1280x1024 60 Hz"
The graphical desktop vt7 is OK. I have removed my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and reloaded X but it did not solve the problem.
How can I fix this?
