I guess /proc/core is where crash errors get logged? Well, my week-old install has made a 539Mb filealready :( Can I control the size of this file, and/or what gets written to it?
Ugh, I've had 8.1 running for just 2 days, and /proc/Kcore is at 137.6 MB already. Methinks there's way too much information getting put in kcore for some reason. Parts of it can be read, and I really don't think it's "crash data". I know I certainly haven't had enough crashes in 2 days to warrant 137MB worth of info! Maybe when I was using Windoze... What gives? It's set up with owner/group root/root, with root-read-only permissions, and can't even change permissions on it to empty it out. This can't be good... Joe
