I installed the latest kernel update, 2.6.8-24.5 and the problem seems to disappear. depmod now generates modules.dep identical with the one from the package. The only difference is that I disabled "delta" rpms in /etc/sysconfig/onlineupdate. "delta" might have incorrectly reconstructed 2.6.8-24.3 rpm for me. Regards, -Kastus
