I have 3 SuSE 8.1 boxes, 1 Windows ME (wife) and an occasional Mac OSX box. 2 of the SuSE boxes and the Windoz box connect by wire. The thirs SuSE 8.1 box and the Mac OSX connect by wireless. The SuSE 8.1 wireless box uses a Compaq WL110. (When that laptop was running 7.3 I had to jump through hoops to get it to work, and never got it to work under 8.0 - but I didn't try hard).
My desktop system runs with a static IP with port forwarding so I can use ssh to connect to the box and use it as an SMTP server.
I also have been able to flash the firmware upgrades to the Linksys directly from the SuSE box.
