Ah... then, it will probably not work. Ok, the procedure is this. Either login as root, or type "sux" (or "sux -") at a terminal as user, to gain root access - "su" will not work, as you need access to X. If you installed xcdroast from suse 8.2 CDs, with the required dependencies (yast should do it automatically), it should work right away. If you are using suse 8.1, perhaps you will need to jump through some loops. You need to configure it ("setup" button); and, to be able to use it as a normal user, you have to add yourself under the "users" tab - and select "change Non-Root configuration". After that, you wan't need to use "sux" again, and the menu entry will work as well.

Notice that it is a warning, not an error. SuSE installs it in "/usr/bin/cdrecord" instead. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
