Hello! I'm a recent convert to SuSE 8.1 from Mandrake.
I'm using KInternet to dial up my ISP. If the line is not busy, I have no problems. However, if the line is busy, KInternet (and wvdial also) says that it is retrying. In the log, it indicates it is trying to dial the number again. However, it never does. The command it is sending is fine (ATDT16464960000) but it never seems to send the command to the modem.
This is true also when I try to use wvdial from the command line. It will connect fine if the line isn't busy. But will not redial (although it says it is) if the line is busy.
Anyone have any ideas?
Rick
--************************ Hi Rick, Welcome to SuSE, I think you will find it to be a pleasant experience. Did you add a reset command in your dial commands. Without seeing your log, it is a little difficult to determine exactly what problem you are having, but the first thing that comes to mind is that the modem is not being reset after it dials the busy line. Usually a simple ATZ will take care of things, but you may want to check your modem manual for any special commands it needs.
