Bad move -- installing a 6.4 rpm on a 6.3 system. The two systems are built on different library versions, so incompatibilities must show up. You could: 1) Update your whole system to 6.4, or 2) Build Xwindows from source, using libjpeg.so.62.
Yeah, I fugred that it wasn't the sharpest move. :) I reinstalled the original library and built a synlink to it for libjpeg.so.62 and XFCE seems to fall for it. This will keep me running until 7.0 hits the shelves.
I have run into this problem as well, but the solution is not totally clear to me. I should reinstall the old libjpeg rpm, right? And then maek a symlink. I am not clear enough on doing this yet. I can read the command for doing this, but i am not sure which one comes first and which last in the command. Could someone give me the comand, and tell me why it works as it should? My problem is kfm and a few other programs failing with the message, wrong library, caller expected 6.t and found 6.2, as best I remember it. -- Bob Rea Freedom is only privilege extended unless enjoyed by one and all --Billy Bragg rear@sirius.com rrea@askjeeves.com http://www.sirius.com/~rear -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
