Don't know if these are only typos but it should look like /dev/hdc /cdrom iso9660 ro, noauto, user 0 0 /dev/fd0 /floppy auto noauto, user 0 0 Also make sure that mount and umount are suid root: chown root.root /bin/mount /bin/umount chmod 4755 /bin/mount /bin/umount Then try mounting your cdrom with mount /cdrom Do not use mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdc /cdrom because it won't work.
