Does SuSE come with docbook? has anybody ever used this? I heard about it and visited the sites. I figured it would simplify writing documentation but do I still need to write my own styles and coding?
What do I need to install and are there any tools that have proven themselves to be of advantage to be used?
mk MK,
There are some tools such as Jade for processing DSSSL, or xt for processing XSL style sheets. Depending on how you feel about (X)Emacs and its occult key bindings you may find it to be useful. Take a look at the info pages on psgml. I recommend using docbook XML rather than SGML. If you are looking for WYSIWYG tools, when you find one let me know. http://www.docbook.org/ may be of some value to you. I have found the whole area of XML/SGML very interesting, very promissing, and very very frustrating. If you come into it with the expectation that you will be hand codeing all your tags, or at least, editing in an environment where your tags are visible, you will probably suffer far less than I have. If you find better tools please let me know. Steve
