Hello all.
I'm wanting to upgrade my 7.1 kernel. At the update site I see in the 7.2 kernel directory these RPM's: k_deflt-2.4.4-28.i386.rpm k_i386-2.4.4-28.i386.rp k_psmp-2.4.4-29.i386.rp k_smp-2.4.4-27.i386.rpm
The README in the directory is talking about an Oracle made kernel for 7.2. So I'm a bit confused.
Could someone please explain the upgrade process to me, or point me to the document that explains it? Thanks!
The deflt kernel is probably the one you want. The i386 is for older, non-pentium processors. The smp ones are for simultaneous multiple processor, i.e dual processor boards.
Actually, I need SMP. What is the difference between the two SMP versions? P.S. That sure is a lot of crap at the bottom of your e-mail about netzero. I'd talk to them about that.
