So does SuSE as well as Red Hat. Bill Barnes wrote:
The DOS utility is 'rawrite.exe'. Mandrake includes it in their distro. You can also find it at the website of 'doslinux' http://www.tux.org/pub/people/kent-robotti/ which, BTW, is a very nice rendering of a Linux bootable from Windows.

Right? The reason why I'm asking is because I have this other PC and I'd like to use the same kernel on it.
Nope, sorry :( The m<whatever> commands only work for DOS formatted floppys.
Your best bet is probably copying it off the original computer onto a
floppy and copying it off that floppy. I had thought that you could 'dd' it off the floppy, but that wouldn't work, because it would take an image of the whole floppy. Other ideas anyone?

The boot disk is not a filesystem. It is a kernal image with a bootstrap.
Yup, that would be right if it was made by something like 'make bzdisk' or
Bill Barnes the formatted the
like.

filesystem I
need to use as an option. By the way, is there a listing of every available filesystem somewhere in the documentation?
Bye, Chris -- Apologies to everyone who has been waiting for replies off me over the past few weeks - I've been away from my computer.
