Hi,
I am not sure, but don't you have to run the "Change Installation Medium" tool in YAST2 first?

YaST refuses to play nicely with my DVD. I have put in the ide-cd/cdrom module info into /etc/sysconfig/kernel, mkinitrd. I have run hwscan -cdrom. I have had it configured as a ide-scsi device. I re-updated the system with the DVD and YaST updated the system, thought to myself, "yes it is fixed." no way! As soon as the second half of the update started, Yast asks for DVD 2...well never being able to use the DVD before, I think this is normal, so I hit okay, Yast still barks for DVD2....what the hell, so outta curiosity I put in CD 2 and whammo it works! This really sucks. So I can use 1 CD's worth on the DVD :P Can't change the medium , can't add CDROM, cause it says "A source of that installation medium already exists"???? Something is seriously busted or corrupted when upgrading from 8.0--->8.1. Someone please help! I really don't want to wipe out all the work I have on this laptop...
Yes, that is when it says that A source of that installation medium already exists". DVD:///;devices=/dev/sr1 is what it is pointed to. It won't let me create a 'cd:///'. And the DVD is just a big fat cdrom :-/ -- _ _ __ _____ _____ ___| |_ | '__| / __\ \ /\ / / _ \/ _ \ __| -o) | | _ \__ \\ V V / __/ __/ |_ /\\ |_|(_) |___/ \_/\_/ \___|\___|\__|_\_v rsweet@garagenetworks.net "unix soit qui mal y pense."
