So I am wondering, how do I get libreoffice to stop attempting recovery of this file? I don't need it anymore and it is kind of a pain in the neck now.
i had this problem once, before the advent of LibreOffice i think. the solution i found then was to start the executable with the --norestore option ("soffice --norestore"). then it doesn't try to fix that invisible document. can't remember if i had to continue doing this, or if doing it once solved the problem persistently; i think it did, though.
there also must be a location, probably under ~/.liberoffice somewhere, where the app. stores info. about crashed files it thinks need recovery. couldn't find such a location right now, but that might be because i don't have any crashed doc.s at present.
Ok, thanks for that info - that is a good start. I tried # loffice --norestore and it didn't try to recover the document, but it wasn't permanent. On clicking the icon, it still tries to recover the document. I also cannot find where it stores info about crashed files. I am not familiar with the way they have structured the program files, so I wouldn't know where to look. I examined everything under the .libreoffice directory and nothing indicates to me anything about crashed files.
