I had similar issues with NICs before, which was resolved by removing configuration and then reconfiguration of the NIC. Also check the driver used by Kate OS and compare that with the driver used by SuSE. Had a similar problem with a RAID controller not working on SuSE but working on MDK. Turned out MDK used a different driver than SuSE. Hi,two possibilities, did you do the online update and download the sound packages? and if you did do that two, check to see that your volume control isn't muted.
