Unreal.
This has got to be a joke. Do these folks even read the mail on this list?
However, most (unfortunately not all) other lists have made threads like this a lot less common, as they provide an easy to use web interface alternative for getting on and off, and all one need do to use it is click the link in any list email footer to open that web page. Then you check the box on that page that says unsubscribe to get a confirmation email sent to you. To that, you only need reply, and your subscription is history. It isn't necessary to know what a header is or where to find it, or start yet another useless (spam) thread about sending unsubscribe messages to the wrong place.
I have to agree here that this list is not the most user friendly to the new users. I as well as many others on this list have asked numerous times to change the link at the bottom to be more user friendly for anyone wanting to be unsubscribed. My guess is that the list-owner either doesn't monitor the list or just doesn't give a damn about the users who use this list. Like you I am about ready to chuck it all in and say good bye to this list (been a member for almost 8 years) because of all of the top posting, untrimmed replies and other things that just plain do _NOT_ belong on this list (unneeded noise). When Chris was the list owner(?) there was at least some semblance of order. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
