I had a similar problem with netscape. I tracked my problem down to the "plugger" plugin. It creates a file /tmp/ndegug owned by the the first person to run netscape. Other (non root) users cannot run netscape without getting the bus error. I have not found an elegant solution to this. Options I have considered are to change the permisions of the file created, get rid of pluger, or just manuall delete the file after I am done with netscape. I was wondering if your problem was the same as mine/
