Hi I have just installed 11.3 and am having a problem with the graphics resolution. My screen is actually a TV which does not report its characteristics (1280x720@60Hz). X automatically configures itself to 768x576@50Hz and the screen scales this in such a way as to shift the top, bottom and left side off the physical screen. The installation is fine when attached to a 'normal' monitor (X correctly autoconfigures 1024x768@60Hz). The TV screen functions correctly under 11.2. I tried copy the relevant lines from my old, functional xorg.conf into the new one - but there is no xorg.conf and the use of the files in xorg.conf.d is opaque without adequate documentation. I tried running sax2 to create a xorg.conf file, only to discover that the utility doesn't seem to exist any more. Can anyone tell me how to manually configure X for the required resolution - what information needs to go into which files now there's no central xorg.conf?
