: When I hit "Save", exit sax2 and restart the X, the tuning is lost. I also manually edited the Modeline in xorg.conf to no avail.
Have you put your modes into Section "Screen"? It should look like
SubSection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "1440x900" "1280x800" "1152x864" "1280x768" "1024x768" "800x600" "768x576" "640x480" EndSubSection
Yes, this is okay. Also I forgot to mention that I'm using the analog D-SUB input, not DVI-D on the monitor. The display adapter is SiS 660, should that make any difference. The resolution is correctly set to 1440x900, but the frequencies are wrong since the picture is too narrow. The monitor reports H: 56kHz V: 60Hz when the picture is too small and 59kHz, 63Hz when the picture is perfect during XFine2 tuning (I select "Change Size" and then a couple of clicks on the "<- ->" button). Is there a way to see the modeline XFine2 creates during testing the server? -Teemu
