Hi all,
I was curious as to why identd was removed from SUSE. This is required for different network services. I know I can add it in, but why was a network service utilized quite often removed? Thanks in advance.
It wasn't, there are two. oidentd and pidentd. Take your pick
There used to be yes. It is not located in the repository on mirrors.kernel.org, nor is it located on CD's 1-5 for installation. There is an AppArmor profile for oidentd, but the package itself is nowhere to be found on the installation media for 10.1. This is proven with setting up the repositories and searching, as well as searching the CD media. I normally use pidentd, and has never been an issue in the past. Regards, Eric Burke
