Hello:
openSUSE 11.2 with firefox 3.5.6, opensuse package: The print resolution is set back to 300 dpi every time when I print something. It is very annoying to always check and set resolution when I print. How could I make firefox remember my setting?
Thanks, Istvan
Don't know if this will help as I don't have a printer to test it with. In firefox enter about:config in the url bar. In the "filter" space, enter "print". That will bring up a couple of pages of variables. Near the bottom of this list is the entry: *** print.tmp.printerfeatures.PostScript/default.supports_resolution_change *** The default is set to false. Double click on that line to bring up a dialog where you can change that to "true". Try that and let us know what happens.
Thank you. I have created a new profile and changed settings there. In about:config there wasn't print.tmp.printerfeatures.PostScript/default.supports_resolution_change line, but I found these: print.tmp.printerfeatures.kyocera.can_change_resolution print.tmp.printerfeatures.kyocera.supports_resolution_change both set to false. kyocera is my printer que name. I have changed both to true and tried to print a page two times after each other. Both times the resolution was set to 300dpi and I changed it to 600dpi. After printing I checked the about:config again and the above options were set back to false. No anyone else has this problem?
