I have read the above but can't get parted to recognize hda2 .or hda3. I installed OpenSuSE 10.2 in a new box with an 80 G hard drive. The default values use the whole disk. I want to make room for more distros. I booted with a Ubuntu disk and added hda2 and hda3 in /etc/fstab as follows: unionfs / unionfs rw 0 0 tmpfs /tmp tmpfs nosuid,nodev 0 0 /dev/hda1 swap swap defaults 0 0 /dev/hda2 / ext3 defaults 0 0 /dev/hda3 /home ext3 defaults 0 0 ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo tune2fs -O^has_journal /dev/hda2 tune2fs 1.38 (30-Jun-2005) ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo parted /dev/hda2 resize 21476 8000 Error: Partition doesn't exist. Information: Don't forget to update /etc/fstab, if necessary. ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ What am I missing?
