Hi,
Umm, usually when you get a VFS error you are in trouble, since this means
that the kernel cannot find the file system.
Assuming that you are using loadlin, at the prompt, type:
linux root=/dev/hda3
or the corresponding device to the root of your drive.
See if that works,
Hope that helps,
Thomas Adam

Subject: [SLE] Can't reboot with Adaptec RAID
Hi,
I'm trying to install SuSE 7.1 professionnal edition on a Dell computer
with an Adaptec RAID scsi drive.
The adequat kernel module are AIC7xxx and AACRAID, as I can see with an
lsmod.
The installation seems OK, but the kernel generate the folowing error
when rebooting:
kmod failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k block-major-8, errno=2
VFS: cannot open device "803" or "08:03"
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mouny root fs on 08:03
I've inspected intrd, and it only contains the module aic7xxx.o in the
kernel/drivers/scsi directory. What about aacraid? I've searched on the
hard disk, under /lib/module, and I did'nt find it.
Any help?
Thanks in advance.
Philippe.
