Good evening all, I have installed SuSE 10.0 on a new hard drive (so as to not trash my 9.3 install ^_^) and have a few niggly problems that I can't seem to get sorted. The first of these is this: I have an nVidia Corporation Quadro4 380 XGL (10de@018b) which under 9.3 I have been able to get running in dual-head mode fairly effortlessly by going through YaST > Graphics card and monitor. The card is set up twice, each on the same bus (BusID: 1:0:0), just with one as Primary Screen, and the other with Secondary screen. Lovely :) In 10.0, they appear to have taken away the choice of installing/tweaking the graphics card in that way. It shows only 1 monitor, and I can't seem to add another one/duplicate the gfx card. According to the start-up manual on page 103 (UK english version) under the Dual Head section, it states "check 'Activate dual head mode' at the bottom of the dialog and click 'Configure' to set the dual head options..." Now I may be being dense (won't be the first time, won't be the last ;) ) but I can't seem to locate such a checkbox anywhere in the dialogue presented. It seems to ident the card okay, and recognises it as 9.3 does, just doesn't seem to allow me to get that second head running... no second display tab (as promised in the manual ;)) and I am left feeling somewhat... frustrated. So, in 10.0 I am left working off a single monitor, whereas I just plug my 9.3 drive in and I get glorious dual headed goodness :) And I could set it up in the GUI in 9.3... am I really going to have to hack my x.org conf file? I should also mention that both installs (9.3 and 10.0) are using the nVidia driver not the native nv driver. Overall I found it painless to install, and although I have a few niggles with it (which I will work through in due course) seems to be a fairly solid release. Not done enough testing on it yet (only installed it last night ;) ) but will be pleased to upgrade properly to 10.0 _if_ I can get this dual head problem sorted.
