Quoting Michael Nelson
I was unable to get my wireless card working (Netgear WG511) under 10.0 beta 1, so after searching the archives and seeing others also unable to get their wireless cards working, I wiped the disk and re-installed 9.3. I'll try beta 2 when it comes out.
I tried loading the last KOTD a few days ago (kernel 2.6.13-rc6-git1), and gave it a whirl. At first boot, everything seemed fine. I could ping the router, get an IP, and the signal had no problems. I had to turn off encryption in order for the wireless to work. However, I had my laptop lock up on me, and the subsequent reboot killed off the success I had. This bug (at least the part I mentioned in an earlier post about encryption), is documented, and apparently there is some sort of fix coming down the pipe in beta 2 (see the first link for more information). https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=104006 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=104117 The KOTD update was good for stability, but I can't figure out why it wireless would work one minute and then stop following a reboot. I've tried everying (ifup, ifdown, iwconfig), and nothing. I guess wireless is out of the question (or a problem) until Beta2 comes out. -Chris
