I can't believe that were the only two that have had this problem. Gets frustrating!
You're not the only ones! The configuration of KDE through upgrades is driving me crazy. I've just upgraded 7.2>7.3. I think that this is the first and last upgrade I do. So slow. Do you remember how in Windows (especially 9x) that after a number of months the system becomes slower and slower to start and shutdown due mainly to system crashes? Well I feel KDE has similar problems. For example when I start KDE2 I get half a dozen blurring Konqueror start up windows that take about 90 seconds to disappear. I tried clicking and unclicking the 'Restore Previous Sessions etc etc' all to no avail. I tried looking to find where the information for restoring a session is stored (haven't found it yet, anyone know?). In the end I had a look at the process tree and found half a dozen sleeping Konqueror processes that I killed on re-start there were no more Konqueror windows. However the system is still pig-slow under my main account but not if I make a new account. There must be a lot more cruft stuck in there somewheres... Jethro
