Has anyone got the tricks needed to get Pan 0.12 to compile on SuSE 8.0.
It needs GTK2, which needs Pango 1.0.3 which is where I am stuck, because this won't compile, something to do with it only building against an old version of Xft (see - http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gtk-i18n-list/2002-June/msg00001.html)
Of course, if someone wants to build me an RPM, then that would make my day ;-)
I've built Gtk2 and all of the required libs: ftp://ftp.funktronics.ca/pub/rpm/SuSE-8.0/d-f I've also built a newer Pan, in the gnm directory, but it's the latest stable version, not the dev version. Really you should be able to simply install the source RPM, drop the Pan tarball in /usr/src/packages/SOURCES, and edit the /usr/src/packages/SPECS/gnpan.spec file to set the version number. Then you can do an 'rpm -ba gnpan.spec' and you'll have a shiny new rpm in /usr/src/packages/RPMS/i386.
