Hi Guys, Now that I can burn CDs and DVDs on 9.2 on ATAPI drives w/o any ide-scsi emulation, I have learned enough to be confused and dangerous :o) It seems that SUSE is using a vers of 'cdrecord' that they have modified in-house. The debugging info tells us that , and asks users to send reports to SUSE-feedback and not to the author. Anyone have any details as to what and why they have done that? While attempting to write to a DVD-R blank, SUSEs cdrecord msgs stated that they do not do DVD-R, and that a license key is needed. Hmmmm. This got me to thinking that I don't know enough about what the DVD alphabet actually mean. DVD-R DVD-RW DVD+R DVD+RW DVD+DL DVD-RAM I know that DVD-RAM in action is just like a slow small HD, but ablut the others I just don't know enough to understand which is better or worse for what. Anyone have any good links? I see some of you refer to XCDRoast, but there is no pkg on the install DVDs for 9.2 and Packman's latest rpm is for 9.0 Whats up with that?
