Somewhere I saw it doing jpg files and crashing. But the crash logs are huge, I don't know how to locate the filenames if they are there.
I guess jpegs ought to be supported, they are hardly exotic.
Maybe take a closer look at one of the core dumps, to maybe see if a filename can be found ?
I have obtained coredumpctl info PID for every PID in the coredump list. That is 120 MB in 8383 files. I tried to automate: coredumpctl gdb 17114 > p but it halts expecting some input. Can't generate them. Tried -batch, no good: cer@Telcontar:~/tmp/coredump/core_info> coredumpctl gdb -batch 17114 > p coredumpctl: invalid option -- 'b' cer@Telcontar:~/tmp/coredump/core_info> coredumpctl gdb --batch 17114 > p coredumpctl: unrecognized option '--batch' cer@Telcontar:~/tmp/coredump/core_info> Now what? Yes, they are photos, as I guessed. Look at one random info file: Stack trace of thread 26906: #0 0x00007f874bceaa0c n/a (libexiv2.so.26) #1 0x00007f874bcc5a0b n/a (libexiv2.so.26) #2 0x00007f874bcb5344 _ZN8TXMPMetaINSt7__cxx1112basic_stringIcSt11char_traitsIcESaIcEEEE17RegisterNamespaceEPKcS8_ (libexiv2.so.26) #3 0x00007f874bcb0ba6 _ZN5Exiv29XmpParser10initializeEPFvPvbES1_ (libexiv2.so.26) #4 0x00007f874bcb3539 _ZN5Exiv29XmpParser6decodeERNS_7XmpDataERKNSt7__cxx1112basic_stringIcSt11char_traitsIcESaIcEEE (libexiv2.so.26) Now, what is libexiv2? Well, photo information library. cer@Telcontar:~> rpm -qfi /usr/lib64/libexiv2.so.26 Name : libexiv2-26 Version : 0.26 Release : lp152.8.2 Architecture: x86_64 Install Date: 2021-01-01T00:49:42 CET Group : System/Libraries Size : 3211936 License : GPL-2.0-or-later Signature : RSA/SHA256, 2020-05-16T18:41:15 CEST, Key ID b88b2fd43dbdc284 Source RPM : exiv2-0.26-lp152.8.2.src.rpm Build Date : 2020-05-16T18:40:31 CEST Build Host : lamb03 Relocations : (not relocatable) Packager : https://bugs.opensuse.org Vendor : openSUSE URL : http://www.exiv2.org/ Summary : Library to access image metadata Description : libexiv2 is a C++ library with a C compatibility interface to access image metadata, esp from Exif tags.
