Hi all out there,
I've being waiting for the new 10.1 release to reinstall a laptop computer and regain access to my starts to Linux. Even as a freshman, the network installation option seems to me pretty convenient. But I'm not able to follow the instructions at http://en.opensuse.org/Released_Version#Internet_Installation to get the installation done.
I've download the ISO of the boot CD, reboot the computer from this CD and go through the first steps of the installation configuring my network card. But I never reach Yast, only some windows asking me about the protocol and server to be used.
Please, could you tell me to what server must I point my computer to reach the installation sources?
Thank you in advance,
Ricardo
Same problem here. could never connect to the http server at http://download.opensuse.org I was able to connect to an ftp mirror though, in my case it was suse.mirrors.tds.net (216.165.129.140), the directory is /pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.1/inst-source I was looking for the x86_64 install source, which not all mirrors had. You may find a more convenient source here: http://en.opensuse.org/Mirrors_Released_Version -- Jim Barnes -- Certainly the game is rigged. Don't let that stop you; if you don't bet, you can't win. -Lazarus Long -- Linux 2.6.15-22-386
