Have the feeling that the aux port on my motherboard is playing games with me. Can I disable it?
Did you get a motherboard book from the OEM?
BTW what aux connector. You should have two PS2, one kb one mouse, two serial, one parallel and more recently at least two USB plus monitor which will be on the graphics card.
Got the motherboard book from the OEM. You are right. I do have two PS2 ports. One which they call PS/2 K/B --AT K/B where I indeed have connected my keyboard. Never new it was also called PS2. The other a six pin connector where the cable to the small round connector is connected. I have disconnected the PS2 mouse. I also tried an extra PS2 mouse with the same result in that a boot was impossible. Will try another cable to connect to the six pins and see if the problem is with the board or the connector. Think that is the only way to go. In the meantime I have installed a serial mouse and are up to GUI again. Thanks for the help.
Unless you have an old fashioned 1/2 kb connector you have the PS2 which are about 1/4 inch. As to the mouse its usb converted to PS2 for the KVM. Check your bios for these ports being enabled. BTW what is the brand and ID of the motherboard? -- ___ _ _ _ ____ _ _ _ | | | | [__ | | | |___ |_|_| ___] | \/
