I have my Linux workstation that runs VMware and I have to work on some old Windows code, so I do this on a VMWare NT installation. Sometimes I need to test the software on a new install, so I have a clean Windows and I keep all the VMware files backed up. So I do the installation and test the software on this install. When I am done, I just overwrite the VMWare files with the backed-up files. Now I have a clean system again to test with. Don't need to re-install or anything. This is also handy when your Windows is broken. Just keep a backup and when Windoze croaks, you restore the backups and your system is back. 2) At work I have some Windoze proprietry stuff that I need to use, so once a week I fire up Windoze and do those things and then stop Win again. I don't have to reboot. My Linux work can continue. I also noted that Windows tend to be more stable under VMWare and if it crash, the reboot is fast. -- Andre Truter Software Engineer Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 AIM: trusoftzaf <-------------------------------------------------> < The box said: Requires Windows 95 or better... > < So I installed Linux > <------------------------------------------------->
