Thank to all who replied. I guess I misunderstood the wordpress instructions regarding the root user. Jdd I appreciate the link to your page unfortunately, I don't speak /read french. Now I have some additional questions regarding Apache and wordpress. Any gotchas, words of wisdom etc regarding OpenSuSE and wordpress? I'm a little confused as to why there should only be one database, wouldn't this give everyone access to modify someone else's MySql/wordpress tables ? The end game is to set this up so each member of my family has their own page(s). On Mar 10, 2012, at 7:00 PM, SuSE User wrote:

I don't mind providing a simple hint / solution to an off topic question now and then, but Wordpress has amazingly good documentation and a huge user community, including many forums, Wiki/web pages and even IRC channels. Eveything I've learned about WP has been gleaned from those sources. I suggest you start researching your requirements there. 'Multi-site' installations might be possible, but that is beyond the scope of what could or should be addressed on this list. Also, the convention here is 'bottom posting' not 'top posting'.
