A) What is the difference between ACPI and APM. Should I try to enable ACPI instad of APM?
ACPI is a newer emerging standard, APM is what it is replacing. It just means the BIOS and motherboard do not implement ACPI, but APM. You should use APM in your case, as that is dictated by your hardware.
That's correct, but only part of the truth. APM only cares about power management, but ACPI does some other jobs, e.g. IRQ routing... More information: http://www.acpi.info Linux ACPI Patch: http://sf.net/projects/acpi Kind regards, Heiko
