Opensuse 11.1 with kde 4.2 latest update from factory repo. I can't find in kde control center how to change the desktop backround color/image. Any hints?
Thanks, Istvan
Right click on your desktop & then select appearance >settings find the word wallpaper > type > color or image or slide show
This is strange, there is no right-click menu on my desktop. If I click the right mouse button nothing occurs.
It's an artefact of having used the "plain desktop" (no Plasma cashew) desktop type in KDE 4.1. That writes a line "plugin=plaindesktop" to ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-appletsrc. Plasma in 4.2 then can't find this plugin, which is the thing responsible the context menu. This also prevents the widget handles used to move/resize/configure widgets on the desktop from appearing. You can fix this by quitting plasma, by logging out (or kquitapp plasma), change that line to "plugin=desktop" and logging back in or restarting plasma. We'll port plaindesktop to KDE 4.2 in due course. Will -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
