I have a Dell laptop with a Speedstep CPU, and it doesn't - at least not from Linux. I read somewhere that you need 2.2.15 or higher, but I couldn't get it to work with SuSE's 2.2.16 laptop kernel. Then again, I'm not sure if anything special needs to be done to make the speed switch. Just plugging in the AC doesn't do the trick; maybe some user space utility needs to be run?
I don't see why it wouldn't. I will ask around to see if there are any known issues with it.
