Hello,
I recently installed SuSE 9.0 Professional, and use KDE as my desktop. The fonts in KDE applications look very good. The fonts in Mozilla look fine if I use the version of Mozilla that was installed from the SuSE CDs. However, if I download a more recent version of Mozilla (1.5, 1.6a, nightly build) from the Mozilla site and install it (from a tar file), the fonts look very bad. The characters are a bit jagged and rough, not smooth like the characters in the KDE applications. I've tried going into Mozilla preferences and changing the font selection, but this didn't help. I also tried changing the TrueType settings in Mozilla's unix.js file, but this didn't help either. Does anyone know how to make Mozilla (a version installed from the Mozilla site) use the same fonts as KDE applications? The fonts in Konqueror look very good. Is there a way to make Mozilla use the same fonts as Konqueror?
Thanks very much!
Dom
Have you taken a peek at http://www.mozilla.org/unix/customizing.html#prefs ?
