Hello, I am upgrading my XFree86 server to XFree86-4.1.0 on my SuSE 7.1 Professional install and attempting to follow the instructions at the SuSE web pages: http://www.suse.com/en/support/xsuse/index.html#xfree86410 and ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.1.0-SuSE/ Both README files have the following text: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- download the appropriate files, i.e. the files located in * suse70 (SuSE Linux 7.0 / glibc 2.1.3) * suse71 (SuSE Linux 7.1 / glibc 2.2) * suse72 (SuSE Linux 7.2 / glibc 2.2) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- However no where in the: 'ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.1.0-SuSE' directory structure does there exist a 'SuSE Linux 7.1 / glibc 2.2' directory. Looks like some innate knowledge is needed to decipher the README file. Under the 'ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.1.0-SuSE' directory there is a 'suse71' directory with 12 rpm files, one gzip'ed file and two sub-directories namely 'DRI' and 'sax2'. The 'DRI' sub-directory has three rpm files in it, and the sax2' sub-directory has one rpm file in it. So this spawns a couple of questions: 1. Are the files in: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.1.0-SuSE/suse7.1' the same files mentioned in the 'README' file as 'SuSE Linux 7.1 / glibc 2.2' ? 2. If question #1 is 'yes' do I recreate the 'DRI' and 'sax2' subdirectories and files in it verbatim or can I ftp those 'DRI' and 'sax2' rpm files into the same download directory as the other files? 3. If question #1 is 'no', where are the XFree86-4.1.0 upgrade files located? Anybody got a clue, or done this before? Thanxs, -jpg
