Depending on the scanner, the sane package may work. Again, I'd rather install a second parallel port if you want them both on the same machine.
Any advice on how to do that? Last time I tried to add a second parallel port I had no success getting it recognized.
The last time I did it, which was a while ago, I bought an add-in parallel port card and configured it with a jumper to use IRQ 5. This was an ISA card, and it may not be so easy any more since most new PCs don't have any ISA slots. If not, you'd have to find a PCI parallel port card. If your printer is newer, it may also have the option to connect through USB. Mine has both parallel and USB ports. Best Regards, Keith -- LPIC-2, MCSE, N+ I can C for miles and miles Got spam?
