Actually, I forgot to "turn on" gmails' webmail pop server - it worked
HOWEVER, I found out that gmail - also - moves the email (after it is downloaded) from the Inbox to the Trash folder (auto deletes from there after 20 days) - - - so dumped gmail idea !
I told you so.
However, what you have to do is dump your idea that you should use pop3. NO! use imap.
With imap, the remote trash can at gmail is shown as a folder on your mail client (thunderbird), and you can see it, erase the contents, whatever, without using the webmail client.
Carlos, This is what is says in gmail's settings. === When a message is marked as deleted and expunged from the last visible IMAP folder: Archive the message (default) Move the message to the Trash Immediately delete the message forever === I have the default set and I'm using K-9 on my Android phone, does that mean all the emails I've been deleting via the phone are just being archived?
